the gospel

why?

The Gospel...providing the way for me to fellowship with my Creator as He intended for Eden. It is a radical love pursuit; where Christ my Savior gives way to nothing in order to restore my life, and all of humanity back to the way he originally created it to be. The Gospel is freedom to BE and not DO. It defines my life and gives purpose to every breath."
Christina Cena
“Jesus Christ came not to condemn you but to save you, knowing your name, knowing all about you, knowing your weight right now, knowing your age, knowing what you do, knowing where you live, knowing what you ate for supper and what you will eat for breakfast, where you will sleep tonight, how much your clothing cost, who your parents were. He knows you individually as though there were not another person in the entire world. He died for you as certainly as if you had been the only lost one. He knows the worst about you and is the One who loves you the most.
If you are out of the fold and away from God, put your name in the words of John 3:16 and say, “Lord, it is I. I’m the cause and reason why Thou didst on earth come to die.” That kind of positive, personal faith and a personal Redeemer is what saves you. If you will just rush in there, you do not have to know all the theology and all the right words. You can say, “I am the one He came to die for.” Write it down in your heart and say, “Jesus, this is me—Thee and me,” as though there were no others. Have that kind of personalized belief in a personal Lord and Savior.”

“If we were left to ourselves with the task of taking the gospel to the world, we would immediately begin planning innovative strategies and plotting elaborate schemes. We would organize conventions, develop programs, and create foundations… But Jesus is so different from us. With the task of taking the gospel to the world, he wandered through the streets and byways…All He wanted was a few men who would think as He did, love as He did, see as He did, teach as He did and serve as He did. All He needed was to revolutionize the hearts of a few, and they would impact the world.” “If we were left to ourselves with the task of taking the gospel to the world, we would immediately begin planning innovative strategies and plotting elaborate schemes. “The good news is that Christ frees us from the need to obnoxiously focus on our goodness, our commitment, and our correctness. Religious has made us obsessive almost beyond endurance. Jesus invited us to a dance...and we've turned in into a march of soldiers, always checking to see if we're doing it right and are in step and in line with the other soldiers. We know a dance would be more fun, but we believe we must go through hell to get to heaven, so we keep marching.”
- Steve Brown

The Gospel is God’s Good News for each of us!
God sent his son Jesus, born of a virgin, to live as a perfect man on earth overcoming all temptations of human sin, and teaching everyone how to live as children of a loving God.  Jesus was put to death on a cross in place of the death that we all deserve because of our sins.  He became our sin, erased it, and reestablished our right relationship with our Father.  Jesus suffered a cruel death on the cross, overcame death, was resurrected to prove God’s power and purpose, then ascended into Heaven to sit at God’s right hand as our Lord and Savior.
